Child actor Philip McKeon passed away on Tuesday after a long illness. His passing was announced by a family spokesperson.
The actor, who went into radio broadcasting later on in life, was 55 years old.
He was best known for his role as Tommy Hyatt in the CBS sitcom, Alice.

The show ran from 1976 to 1985 and featured Linda Lavin as the title character of Alice.
Jeff Ballard, the family spokesperson, said McKeon passed away in Texas after a long illness. He detailed how the actor gravitated towards radio broadcasting in his adult years.
"We are all beyond heartbroken and devastated over Phil's passing," Ballard said.
"His wonderful sense of humour, kindness and loyalty will be remembered by all who crossed his path in life."
McKeon is survived by his mother and his sister, Nancy McKeon, who is also an actress. Fans, friends and other celebrities reacted with sadness to the news of McKeon's passing.
